Our favorite little man

Obviously life with a newborn/infant is pretty crazy and doesn't lend itself well to blogging normally but I really would like to get back into a semi-frequent blogging schedule. I'm about ready to get back into running, am starting to get holiday baking and get togethers planned and have been working on keeping a pretty regular schedule with Elliot. Those are all things that I'd like to share with you!

But this is going to be a quick catch up bullets post because there's been a major growth spurt going on in our house this week and every minute that the baby is sleeping is precious.

*Breastfeeding is really hard. During E's first few weeks I was meeting with a lactation consultant every week. I'd highly recommend anyone about to have a baby look into what LC resources are available to them before the fact. That lady was a lifesaver. Right now we're doing pretty well with breastfeeding but every day is still a struggle. I'm just waiting for that magical turning point where it gets easier that everyone talks about.

*It was SO nice to have Josh home for Elliot's first week of life. I don't think I could've done it without him...especially with all of our breastfeeding drama!

*We've been transitioning Elliot to his crib for the past couple of weeks and gosh that boy loves being held!

*Every morning when we wake up for the day I take E out of his swaddle and nurse him skin to skin with only his diaper on and it's one of the best parts of my day.

*I absolutely love cloth diapers. He's been in them for almost 3 weeks now and they're amazing (and so flipping cute!). They're definitely worth the extra laundry and initial investment (which actually didn't end up being that much because we were turned on to a discount CD site by a good friend- score!).

*My recovery has gone really well...as well as it possibly could have gone. Since I only had 2 tiny internal tears my pain has been minimal and restricted mainly to soreness. It's completely gone now (as is the discharge- yuck) and I'm feeling great. At my 3 week PP appointment with my OB I was cleared for exercise and I've been walking since with a run thrown in here and there. This next week I'm planning on actually getting a running (let's be honest- jogging :)) routing back down and I can't wait.

*Josh is the best daddy ever. It makes my heart happy to see him with OUR SON (still unbelievably amazing).

*Elliot laughed for the first time last week and he's been smiling like crazy. Both are just soooooo rewarding.

AND here are some recent pictures. It's insane to see how much our little fella has grown. Time really has flown.

Elliot's first Halloween

One month old!!!

In the car on the way to Thanksgiving at Grandma's house. LOVE his hat.

Napping today with me. Black Friday really took it's toll :)

Introducing...

The little guy is finally sleeping soundly in his basinette so while I have my arms free for a minute I'm going to type this up real fast :) I have a feeling it'll be long winded so this is your warning!

My water broke at around 12:15am Sunday night/Monday morning. I hadn't been able to sleep and had been tossing and turning for about an hour and a half with back pain. The break started just like a little gush and every time I moved it got a little worse. I was kind of nervous that it wasn't my actual water breaking but, knowing that I'd been dilated to 3cm at my doctor's appointment on the Tuesday prior, we knew that it was safer to head to the hospital and check. On the way to the hospital we were both so nervous that we felt like we were going to be sick. Every light that we came up to was red!

The hospital confirmed my water had broken, declared me 4cm dilated and checked me in. We got into our L&D room at about 2:15am. By that time I was having contractions that were about 40 seconds long, every 3-5 minutes. They were pretty painful but the nurse labeled them "mild." That was scary lol.

When the morning shift came on at 7am I was checked again and still at a 4 with my contractions not getting any stronger or closer together. At around 8:30am they started me on pitocin to augment my labor (they had to make sure he came within a certain time period since my waters had broken which opens baby up to more risk of infection). The contractions picked up in intensity fast. It wasn't like anything I could describe. At 10:30am I was at 6cm and my contractions were coming hard. I got an epidural (the worst part of the entire labor was having to sit through an intense contraction with my back hunched in order to get the epi- yikes) and once it kicked in (pretty instantly) it was like Heaven. Josh and I slept for about 2 hours.

At noon they started me on antibiotics since it had been 12 hours since my water had broken. At 1:30pm I was at 7cm. A bunch of family popped in to wish us luck and decorate the baby's crib with ribbons from my baby showers. We were chatting away but I was starting to feel more pressure despite the epi. My nurse (who was AMAZING) checked me at 2:30. I was fully dilated and complete. I labored down for 30 minutes before the doctor got there and baby was at +3 station (getting ready to crown) when I started pushing at about 3pm. After a little over 20 minutes of pushing Elliot was born at 3:26pm, weighing in at 7lb6oz and 20.5in long. He scored 2 9s on the apgar and has been perfect. We were able to come home a little over 24 hours later (last night) and life is good :) I only had 2 minor internal tears and I'm feeling really good- just sore.

Josh was really amazing through the whole thing- I couldn't have done it without him. He was the best support imaginable. And he's still being amazing! He has this week off of work and it's been incredible to have him with us :) I'm not sure what I'll do without him next week! Elliot really loves his daddy and Josh is a natural!

38 Weeks (and 3 days)

How far along? 38 weeks (and 3 days)

Total Weight Gain: 40 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yepp! My favorite shirt is a white stretchy one that I bought at about 18 weeks. It's so soft and I'd wear it every day now if I could!

Stretch Marks: Yes. I'm not freaking out too much about it though. There aren't a lot- I'm just hoping that we can hold steady at where I'm at until baby gets here.

Sleep: Eh I'm getting it but the quality of my sleep is definitely lacking. Whenever I wake up I have to get up and go to the bathroom or flip over and both of those things are the opposite of fun. Luckily I'm able to go back to sleep fast usually.

Best moment this week: It's been a good week! I started maternity leave on Monday and I've been able to get a lot done.

Miss anything: Just being comfortable in my body. (Still...)

Movement: Definitely. Loving it while I can!

Food Cravings: Anything with cheese. And pineapple. Not necessarily together ;)

Labor Signs: Serious pelvic pressure (owwwww) and on and off contractions. Nothing consistent though. I'm now a little over 3cm dilated, 85% effaced and my OB swept my membranes last Tuesday at my appointment.

Symptoms: Fatigue, pelvic pressure/discomfort, hip pain, cramps, digestive upset. Same as last week plus heartburn.

Belly button in or out: Kind of in the middle. Weird. When I laugh it definitely pops out and it's pretty funny.

Wedding rings on or off: Off.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Next week! After my appointment on Tuesday (if I haven't gone into labor naturally by then) my doctor said that he'd be really comfortable with inducing any day after that (since I'll be over 39 weeks). I really think that we're leaning towards it. I know that the decision isn't for everyone and I'll write a post this week highlighting exactly why.

Nursery Photos! Andddd the bump :)

The nursery is officially DONE. We are officially ready for the little guy to get here :)

And my 38 week bare bump shot. Featuring my lovely new stretch mark lol. Update coming soon!

37 Weeks- Full Term!

How far along? 37 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 39 pounds. Still holding steady.

Maternity Clothes: Yes…specifically leggings and yoga pants…and longggggggg tank tops. Heaven.

Stretch Marks: Yesterday while in the doctor’s office I had quite a bit of a wait so while I was waiting in the exam room I decided to inspect my belly. The one stretch mark that I thought was starting has graduated to a definite stretch mark and it has a BFF on the other side of my belly button. Luckily it’s just those 2 (so far….that I can see) and they’re white.

Sleep: Minimal. Heartburn+insomnia+being anxious about baby’s arrival being imminent does not = full nights of sleep.

Best moment this week: Last weekend we got to spend a lot of time with my sisters and their husband/boyfriend. It was a nice, relaxing time.

Miss anything: Just being comfortable in my body. (Same old story)

Movement: Yepp!

Food Cravings: Chocolate chip cookies.

Labor Signs: A lot more pressure, cramps that come and go. I was 2.5cm dilated and 80% effaced at my OB appt yesterday!

Symptoms: Fatigue, pelvic pressure/discomfort, hip pain, cramps, digestive upset.

Belly button in or out: Flat.

Wedding rings on or off: Off.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Meeting our son!!!!!

36 Weeks- The final stretch!

How far along? 36 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 39 pounds. Same as last week.

Maternity Clothes: There is really no other option being this pregnant :)

Stretch Marks: The same little one that I thought was starting last week…it hasn’t progressed since then though sooooo maybe there’s still hope.

Sleep: Not awesome. It’s gotten a lot better now that the weather is cooling down though! I’ve actually used a blanket for the first time since like…March.

Best moment this week: We had a great baby shower with my mother in law’s side of the family on Saturday and Josh has just been super sweet this week. He kissed my belly for the first time, he’s been talking about where we’ll get the baby’s pumpkin (lol). I think that now that my belly is humongous everything is more real for him and I’m loving it!

Miss anything: Just being comfortable in my body. (Same as last week)

Movement: Moving all the time. It can definitely be uncomfortable (especially when he’s up in my ribs) but I still love it.

Food Cravings: Tomato basil soup. Yummmmm. I’ve had it 3 times in the past week.

Labor Signs: Still Braxton hicks. More pelvic pressure. No sign of the mucus plug or anything like that yet. I feel like I’m TTC again, checking every time I go to the bathroom!

Symptoms: Fatigue, heartburn, pelvic pressure/discomfort, hip pain, increasing BH.

Belly button in or out: Flat. Still not popped. I have no hope again haha. Oh well.

Wedding rings on or off: Off. Still very sad about it. I tried my rings on yesterday and they can go on but they’re pretty tight and I don’t want to risk anything!

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Spending some time with my older sister this weekend and being full term in less than a week! Also looking forward to my last day of work- next Friday!

Nursery progress....with pictures!!!

Sooooooooooo our nursery isn’t done yet. We’ve made a TON of progress and it’s *this* close. But it’s not complete. It should be 100% complete by next Wednesday and I can’t wait!

This is stuff that we have done though:

-We put up the crib and dresser. My mother in law was generous enough to purchase them for us and they’re gorgeous! I originally wanted white furniture but Josh felt very strongly about going dark instead so we compromised and I really like how they turned out.

-We bought a rug! The rug is probably my favorite part of the whole room. It ties everything together and I love it. We were lucky enough to get it 75% through RugsUSA.com when they had their 4th of July sale.

-Josh put up rain gutter bookshelves. Using a tutorial that I found on Pinterest (of course) he did this and it only took about an hour. I love the way they look and we’ve gotten tons of compliments on them. Score! The only downside is that once we put books on them the corners where the gutters connect to the corner connectors (so technical, I know) sag a little. We’re trying to figure out a way to reinforce them but they still look good and hold up well.

-We put a storage cube into the closet and organized it. All of baby’s clothes are stored by age in the cube. I didn’t feel like it was necessary to hang baby boy’s clothes since he won’t be wearing dresses or skirts or things so it’s nice to have all of his clothes out of the way.

-My mom painted the room. When she first painted there was a bit of a fiasco regarding the color. Before there was anything else in the room it looked decidedly lavender/purple instead of light grey/darker grey. After she painted the center molding yellow and we put things in the room though it’s definitely looking more grey.

-My mother in law made Peter Pan silhouettes for us to frame. That happened last weekend and Josh just hung them last Tuesday! Tonight I’m going to blow up another one to put in a HUGE frame which will be the main focus. You'll be able to see them in the "finished product" photos.

-My mom and I made a pirate ship mobile to hang above the crib.

-My mom gave me her old rocking chair (that she used for my siblings and I) and made cushions for it.

-My mom also refinished the bassinette that she used for my siblings and I. It’s being stored in the nursery for the time being but it’ll be moved into our room once baby is born.

We’re still waiting on the curtains. My mom is making those and will be putting them up next Wednesday. Josh is also going to build a white corner shelf which will go in the corner by the crib. It will hold the pirate ship that is currently sitting on one end of the changing table/dresser. He’s doing that this weekend!

I’ll be sure to post completed nursery pictures next week! I can’t wait until it’s completely finished! Hopefully these little peeks can hold you over until then :)

35 weeks!

How far along? 35 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 39 pounds. Ugh.

Maternity Clothes: Mhmmmmm. Specifically yoga pants, long tanks and sweaters.

Stretch Marks: I think that one might be starting to the right of my belly button. I can’t tell for sure though. Fingers are crossed that I’m wrong!

Sleep: It’s really hard to get comfortable and flipping from side to side is close to impossible. Lately I’ve just been dealing with the hip/back pain and not flipping over because I don’t want to go through the whole ordeal.

Best moment this week: The relaxing weekend in Carmel! We bought baby’s coming home outfit!

Miss anything: Just being comfortable in my body.

Movement: Still all over the place and still loving it. Last Friday night in Carmel he was going crazy in there so I laid down, pulled up my shirt and my sister, brother and Josh just watched him have a dance party. It was really special!

Food Cravings: Fruit- specifically peaches and plums.

Labor Signs: Still Braxton hicks. More pelvic pressure.

Symptoms: Fatigue, heartburn, pelvic pressure/discomfort, hip pain.

Belly button in or out: Flat. I can feel it through my shirt. Just not popped. When Josh was watching the baby on Friday night he freaked out and said that it’s SO close to popping out. Just when I’d given up! He had me cough and laugh and said that it almost popped when I did those things lol.

Wedding rings on or off: Off.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Last baby shower this weekend with MIL’s side of the family, finishing the registry/nursery on Sunday and doctor’s appt next Tuesday! Andddddddddd last day of work in 2.5 weeks!

Last week's bump (orange shirt) and this week's bump!

34 Weeks (and 3 days...)

I know this is a few days late- I’ve been super busy on every weekend that we’ve been home this week and that’s the only place where I can include pictures in my posts. I want to put this up so I don’t miss a week so it looks like I’ll post the bump pictures from this week and next week together with the next bumpdate!

How far along? 34 weeks
Total Weight Gain:
38 pounds

Maternity Clothes: There’s really no other choice at 8 and a half months pregnant.

Stretch Marks: Still none on my tummy...no new ones.

Sleep: I’m back to sleeping well when I’m asleep but the frequent bathroom trips are basically killing me. Just a few more weeks!

Best moment this week: The time that I spent on the raft in my parents’ pool was definitely a high point. MAJOR high point. It felt so nice to be weightless….

Miss anything: Looking cute lol. So shallow but it is sad to feel like such a whale. It’s all worth it for him though!

Movement: ALL the time. It’s amazing. Our alarm clock wakes him up now! He’s a real booger sometimes though. Whenever one of his grandmas or uncles is trying to feel him he refuses to budge. Whenever Josh or I touch him though he always goes crazy. It makes me happy!

Food Cravings: Tacos!

Labor Signs: Increasing Braxton hicks. Still nothing to be concerned about though. Just a warm up according to my doctor.

Symptoms: Fatigue, rib soreness, round ligament pain, heartburn, nose stuffiness.
Belly button in or out:
In. Almost flattened out but I’m not holding my breath waiting for it to pop anymore. Eh.

Wedding rings on or off: Still off and my fingers/toes are getting more swollen by the day so I don’t have much hope of getting them back on.
Happy or moody most of the time:
Happy!
Looking forward to:
Our weekend trip to Carmel!!!!! My parents have a timeshare and they are there all week. We’re driving up this afternoon (this post was written on Friday!) and staying until Sunday afternoon. We have a room booked with an ocean view and the high temperatures for the weekend are in the low 60s! Coming from 100 degree weather here it’ll be a delight

Plans for Mom: Post-Partum Care

I’m READY for our little guy to get here but as excited as I am about delivering him I’m pretty nervous about the recovery process afterwards. Because of that I’ve put together a list of things to prepare/have on hand just in case they’re necessary. It may be TMI but I think most of it is pretty necessary and I’d really like feedback based on what you ladies are planning on doing or have done that’s worked in the past!

Stool Softener/Miralax- Self explanatory

Nipple Cream- I received some at my shower (along with breast pads) that I plan on using.

Throw Away Underwear- High waisted and cheap so that I don’t feel bad if (when…) I have to throw them away.

Spray Bottle- For the sore bits after delivery.

Cold Compresses- Also for the sore bits.

Tylenol/Ibuprofin- One for the pain and one for the swelling.

Freezer Pads- I plan on soaking regular pads in witch hazel and freezing them for those early recovering days.

Normal humongo pads- Also self explanatory.

Large water bottle- So that I can stay hydrated. I bought a 32 ounce water bottle that I can try to keep full and sip from during feedings.

5 Current W's

Wanting…
My hair to grow faster. I decided last month to grow it out (from an inverted bob) and it just feels like it’s growing at a snail’s pace. I’m ready to be able to put it in a ponytail.
Wearing...
Leggings! I’m trying to think of creative ways to wear them. I’d love to be able to wear them every day… Also, long maternity tank tops from Target are so wonderful. I have a feeling I’ll wear them even after baby because they’re so long and perfect for (you guessed it!) leggings :)
Watching...
Grey’s Anatomy still. We’re smack dab in the middle of season 6. While doing my daily treadmill walking I’m watching Sister Wives though. I just can’t stop!
Wishing….
That the weather would cool down. We’ve had a “cool streak” this week where the weather has been under 100 degrees (hovering around 95) but it’s not cool enough for me. We’re going to Carmel next weekend and I can’t wait for the cooler weather!
Wondering…
What baby’s face looks like. Ever since seeing a 32 week old baby born on Grey’s last week (it’s an addiction…) I’ve been thinking more and more about how there’s a full on BABY inside of me who will be outside within the next 2 months and I just want to be able to picture his face.

What are some things that are on any of your "W's" lists??

33 Weeks

How far along? 33 weeks

Total Weight Gain:
37 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yepp! I’ve rediscovered maternity leggings and they are my new favorite thing!

Stretch Marks: Still none on my tummy...no new ones.

Sleep: Eh. I just don’t look forward to going to bed anymore. I dread waking up and having to lug myself out of bed to go to the bathroom. And my heartburn is really bad at night. It’s just not pleasant anymore.

Best moment this week: Washing/putting away all of baby’s clothes! It feels so good to have that part done and it was so exciting to imagine him in all of the cute little outfits!

Miss anything: Not really right now! As the weather keeps getting cooler I’m sure that I’ll miss morning runs again but…not much longer.

Movement: More just bumps and nudges now. I don’t think he has enough room to get up the momentum for full on big kicks anymore.

Food Cravings: Sandwiches and sliced apple.

Labor Signs: None. I did have my first seriously noticeable Braxton hicks last night though while I was walking on the treadmill! I had to slow down to catch my breath.

Symptoms: Fatigue, rib soreness, round ligament pain, heartburn, insomnia, "the waddle."

Belly button in or out:
Still staying in. Ugh! I want it to pop! I even had a dream last night that I woke up and it had popped out during the night LOL.Some days it seems like it's just ready to burst out but then I check it later and it'll seemingly regress.

Wedding rings on or off: Off
:( Once the weather cools down a little bit more I think I’m going to give them another chance…

Happy or moody most of the time:
Happy!

Looking forward to:
The long weekend coming up!

Getting Ready for Baby- Freezer Meals

We’re doing everything that we can to make the transition to life post-baby as simple as possible. We both know that it’ll probably be crazy for a little while and while undoubtedly be an adjustment so making little steps here and there to help put both of our minds at ease!

We’re also a family on a budget- a budget that will be even tighter after baby is here! So in order to both help prepare and to proactively avoid a lot of eating out right after baby is born I’ve started stocking our freezer with easy meals to keep us on track.

I’m also making some cookie dough to freeze so that once labor is under way or I can tell that we’re getting close we can make some to take with us to the hospital for the nurses.

This is my list of meals/freezer items that I’ll be stocking ours with. Do any of you have any tried and true freezer meals that you’d recommend??

Quick Bullets Post!

-We got a TON done this weekend in the baby’s room. The tags have been removed from all of his stuff, the clothes are all washed, folded and put away, carriers and blankets are organized, toiletries are organized, books are all up on the shelves, sheet is on the bed, cover is on the mattress pad, the fan blades have been changed from dark and scratched to beautiful white, closet now has a “cube” and is organized. The only things that we’re waiting on now are his dresser (ANY DAY Burlington Coat Factory….), the décor for the walls (MIL is stenciling silhouettes this week) and his mobile (next weekend’s project!). Peeks at what we've gotten accomplished will be coming later this week!

-On Friday I went to a Just Between Friends consignment sale and scored a Medela breast pump for $75 (electric, double pump) and an adorable Christmas sweater (I’m thinking for sitting on Santa’s lap??) for Boy Boy.

-My sister in law found out on Friday that she’s expecting a little girl!! Boy Boy’s cousin will be here at the beginning of February (she already has 2 older brothers- our nephews are 3 and 6).

-Josh and I are going to a breastfeeding/infant care class at the hospital where we’ll be delivering tonight. I’m excited to get more information and also about seeing/meeting other expecting couples.

-I’m counting the days until maternity leave….

-Speaking of maternity leave, I discovered my new favorite outfit/weekend and maternity leave uniform. Maternity leggings (I’ll probably never go back to normal), long maternity tank top and overshirt/sweater. Jewelry can be added to cute it up. So comfy! I’d wear it all the time…and I will in just a few short weeks!

-We’ve been watching too much Grey’s Anatomy. Yesterday BB got the hiccups for the second time that day (in the early afternoon) and I started thinking about whether or not it’s dangerous to get the hiccups too often and then I thought of Grey’s and how Lexie’s mom died of the hiccups (not really but that’s how it started). Luckily I’m able to recognize when I’m overthinking/being ridiculous and I talk myself down.

Before Baby Checklist- Update!

When I entered the third trimester I posted this list! We’ve definitely made some progress but there’s still more to be done! There are so many things that seem to be constantly ongoing/take a ton of time.

-Take an infant CPR class (Status: Scheduled. Will be taking it mid-September.)
-Take a breastfeeding class (Status: Scheduled)
-Take a childbirth class (Status: Scheduled)
-Choose a pediatrician (Status: DONE!)
-Pre-Register at hospital (Status: Done.)
-Turn in maternity leave paperwork (Status: Have filled out all of the information that is my responsibility. I will be taking the rest to my next OB appt so they can finish/fax.)
-Set a last day of work (Status: I’ve been dragging my feet on this…I just can’t make up my mind. I’d love to hold out until 38w2d which would put as at October 5th but I’m so uncomfortable/distracted now that I’m thinking the Friday before that, 37w2d, sounds so much nicer…)
-Make circumcision plans (Status: Still not positive about this. I’m starting to think that maybe we’ll find out about this at our first ped appt or in the hospital. Does anyone know?)
-Install carseat (Status: Will do this at 36 weeks)
-Finish nursery (Status: Has been painted. Crib is up with crib mattress. Rocker is up and new cushions have been made. Bookshelves have been installed/filled. We’re still waiting on the dresser, need to hang the prints and organize the closet- I will be starting the closet organization on Friday!)
-Read more on labor (Status: In progress. Reading Ina May’s book now!)
-Make freezer meals (Status: In progress. I’ve made 2 meals so far and 2 loaves of banana bread.)
-Pack hospital bag (Status: Will be doing this closer to 36 weeks)
-Tour hospital (Status: Scheduled. My godsister is an L&D nurse and will be giving Josh and I a private tour!)
-Make a baby watch contact list/plan (Status: Done! We decided this doesn’t need to be a huge production lol. All of our family is in town and we have their contact information in our phones so we’ll just play it by ear depending on how things go.)
-Stretch more (Status: Ongoing)
-Keep walking daily (Status: Ongoing)
-Get a pedicure (Status: Planning on one more before my due date…hopefully early October.)

How are you doing with your “before baby” checklists??

The items that I’m most excited about trying out with our little guy

When we made our registry there were a few items that I was EXTRA excited about trying out with our little boy once he arrives…and I still am! Some of them we’ve received at baby showers and some of them we’ll be purchasing before he gets here.

The BOB- This is probably the baby item that I’m most excited about. I was an avid runner pre-pregnancy and I’m itching to put those running shoes on again (for something other than a painfully slow walk on the treadmill). I can’t wait to share that experience with the little one!

Bumbo- How could you not love a cute baby object with a name like this? You just can’t help it. I know people who have loved theirs and others who have hated it so time will tell where we fall. Right now I’m loving just having it sitting in the dining room :) ***I'm aware that the Bumbo was recalled due to skull fractures while sitting on raised surfaces. We're still planning on using it (along with some common sense ;)).

Baby Carriers- We’ve assembled quite the collection for babywearing. We own (thanks to baby showers!) the Moby and Ergo (Petunia Pickle Bottom print…woohoo!!!). We’ll be borrowing the Baby Bjorn from my godsister to try that one out too. Again, it’ll be interesting to see what works for us.

Cloth Diapers- We registered for BumGenius all in ones. This is another one of those things that work really well for some people and don’t end up working for others so time will  tell.

What are/were some of those things that you were most excited to “try out” with baby? If your baby is already here, did you find that you ended up finding the exciting things actually useful or over-hyped?

32 Weeks- 8 Months!!

How far along? 32 weeks!!!

Total Weight Gain:
36 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yes. I wear Josh's t-shirts at night but other than that it's maternity around here.

Stretch Marks: Still none on my tummy...no new ones.

Sleep: Not great. My bathroom trips have become an average of 4 per night and for some reason I'm wide awake when I get back into bed. I used to be able to fall right back asleep. Not anymore. I'm also having trouble getting comfortable. I have a feeling this isn't going to get better any time soon.

Best moment this week: Hearing at my OB appointment today that baby is head down! Until now he'd been breech transverse so my fingers were crossed that he'd make the flip. Now just hoping that he stays that way.

Miss anything: My old body but I'm feeling more and more confident that it'll bounce back!

Movement: All the time. I love watching my skin roll around :)

Food Cravings: Corn on the cob!!!

Labor Signs: None.

Symptoms: Fatigue, rib soreness, round ligament pain, heartburn, insomnia, "the waddle."

Belly button in or out: Still staying in. I keep thinking that it's about to pop but still no.

Wedding rings on or off: Off as of last Saturday. I may have had an emotional breakdown over this.... I'm wearing a cheap stand-in right now so that my hand doesn't feel naked.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: Baby consignment sale this Friday, being in September and able to say that we'll have a baby "next month." Eeeeeeeeeee!
